Don’t just grab success with both hands – grab it with eight arms. Oktopus Fitness Clubs in the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi, are the biggest, boldest spaces of their kind in the country. Since Oktopus was founded in 2016, it has pushed the standards of service ever higher, with a disciplined focus on creating great experiences that go beyond training.

OPPORTUNITIES AND GOALS

THE CHALLENGE

The founders of Oktopus saw the potential in the region and believed that fitness was the right market to invest in. They had no experience in the fitness sector so didn’t know its trends, business models, details or dynamics. Nevertheless, they knew that by choosing the right partners – including Life Fitness – they could learn. They set their goal: to be the most famous and innovative club in the region.

MORE THAN A GYM

THE OKTOPUS VIBE

Members do more than “go to the gym” – they go to Oktopus. This feeling of belonging to something unique begins at the entrance, where a large neon sign says “become one of us”, and continues with the gym interior design choices in every area.

Black and platinum equipment with red colour accents creates a purposeful, powerful look. This feeling of being somewhere special is further enhanced by superb lighting design that is highly practical and also contributes to the atmosphere.

MEETING EVERY NEED

THE FITNESS OFFERING

Oktopus serves a wide variety of people, from teenagers to the more elderly, and sets an affordable price point. This diverse membership profile means a diverse range of fitness and needs. To meet them all, Oktopus includes traditional training spaces (cardio and strength) and also areas for group training.

Today’s gym members also want access to the most popular fitness trends, so the clubs also offer areas including a functional training zone, indoor cycling studio, aerobics room, Pilates studio, Okto Fit Lab, sauna and outdoor spaces. Social areas, such as the café, build a strong community. To help Oktopus members make the most of everything on offer, it has also created an app they can use to book classes, check in and even refer friends.

LEVERAGING LIFE FITNESS BRANDS

THE EQUIPMENT

Life Fitness provided Oktopus with expert support by planning the entire area. Using our knowledge gained from decades of experience in top gyms around the world, we were able to determine the optimum space to allocate for the facilities (cafe, changing rooms, studios, etc.) as well details such as how many showers and how many lockers should be in the changing rooms.

Life Fitness prepared all of the layouts within a concept and also supported the creation of the club's theme by presenting different sources of inspiration. These included sample photos of newly opened and highly appreciated clubs around the world.

The gym is now equipped with Life Fitness, Hammer Strength and Indoor Cycling Group (ICG) equipment that complements Oktopus’s aesthetic.
